Luke Dale-Roberts was appointed executive chef of this award-winning restaurant in November 2006.  La Colombe was voted Best Restaurant in Africa and the Middle East and 28th Best Restaurant in the World in 2006 by UK Restaurant Magazine.  It didn’t take long for the word to spread that a serious new chef was in town, building on the reputation for excellence and innovation.  Luke continues La Colombe’s proud tradition, and has taken it to the next level, serving Classic and Modern French Cuisine with touches of Asia.

Luke creates food for the discerning diner in search of imagination and superb technique.  He starts with the thought that "A dish has to be understandable and have bold flavours.  From that I build it and add textures and presentation.  I’m always tweaking and refining to find a dish’s full potential.  My mantra is ‘taste, taste, taste!' A meal at La Colombe is one of Cape Town’s greatest pleasures."

Gourmand Menu

The focus is on the “Finest ingredients of South Africa and the World”. Luke Dale-Roberts, Executive Chef,  is taking La Colombe to new heights with the introduction of the Gourmand Menu- ten courses carefully paired with the best of South Africa wines and reds from the Loire Valley.
