Méthode Cap Classique Launch
The unveiling of the maiden vintage of the Constantia Uitsig Méthode Cap Classique marks another milestone and opens a new chapter in the estate’s 20-year history of producing fine quality wines.
This 100% 2005 Chardonnay Méthode Cap Classique joins the exclusive range of wines currently in the Constantia Uitsig portfolio: Sauvignon Blanc 2007, unwooded Chardonnay 2007, Semillon 2006; and the estate’s signature blends, Constantia Uitsig White 2006 and Constantia Uitsig Red 2004.
Just 3000 bottles have been produced of this superior, niche product. In keeping with Constantia Uitsig’s tradition of impeccable style, the antique green bottle demands attention with its long, refined neck and simple, yet compelling label design that creates cause for celebration. A delicate and playful tease of pink on the seal completes the elegant presentation.
The production of the Méthode Cap Classique is the culmination of four long years of passion and determination that is a continuing testimony to the historic estate’s reach for excellence.
Constantia Uitsig Viniculturist, Andre Rousseau says: ‘It has been my dream to produce a superb Cap Classique ever since I became actively involved in the making of Constantia Uitsig wines in 2003.
‘When the decision was made not to continue producing our wooded Chardonnay at Constantia Uitsig, it was an ideal opportunity to persuade the owner to introduce a new wine to our portfolio in the way of Méthode Cap Classique.
‘The launch of the 2005 vintage has been a very exciting venture – something that I am extremely passionate and excited about – and as with everything that we embark on at Constantia Uitsig, this too has been undertaken with a lot of pride and dedication.’
